Year 2, Week 7 – Rain, Repairs & a Stroll Through the Gardens

Week 7 rolled in and brought with it… more work. Nothing too exciting to report there. The Cruiser decided to keep things interesting though, flashing up an error to do with the DPF. Luckily, the car was already booked in for a service the following week, and after a call to Toyota, we were told it was still safe to drive — just not long distances. That instantly put a pause on any big weekend adventures.

Saturday was a rainy, dreary kind of day, so we took the opportunity to visit the tourist information centre. The staff there were absolutely lovely, and we had a great chat while picking their brains for ideas on what to see and do in the area — and starting to make some plans for life after this work stint.

Sunday brought the sunshine back, so we made the most of it with a visit to the Tondoon Botanical Gardens. We wandered through the native bushland, strolled around the lake, and enjoyed the calm beauty of the Japanese Tea Garden. A peaceful way to round off the week.

Not every week can be packed with adventure — sometimes you’ve got to put your head down, earn the dollars, and keep the dream alive.
